Ferraris are not only expensive to buy, but also to maintain.

A Facebook user shared his ordeal with the sports car on Facebook.

Most car fans would probably agree that Ferrari builds some of the most beautiful cars.

However, only very few can afford the sports cars from Italy and that is obviously not only due to the purchase price.

After all, upkeep and maintenance quickly add up.

The replacement of buttons alone costs more than 9,000 euros.

Unfortunately, as reported by Facebook user Jerry Mos, it seems to be a known issue with Ferrari that buttons get sticky after a while.

He also had this problem with his sports car and therefore decided to have it replaced at great expense.

Cost, according to a bill he shared on Facebook: $9,993.80.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the list of repairs to the Ferrari goes on.

"I've (...) spent $15,000 replacing ceramic wheel bearings, $4,000 fixing LED markers that are falling out and so on and so forth," Mos writes in the C8 Corvette group owners.

In addition, there is apparently also a new gearbox for 35,000 US dollars (around 32,950 euros).

Regular maintenance also cost $1,500.

Compared to changing the oil in a Bugatti Veyron, that's a steal.

Also charged $1,800 for the work involved in redoing the buttons on the sports car.

Shipping the parts was comparatively cheap at $80.70.

Different from the "refurbishment of all internal parts".

This cost a whopping $7,452.

Ferrari customer pays over 9,000 euros for buttons: Corvette bought as successor

In the meantime, Mos has had enough and sold the Ferrari and exchanged it for a new Corvette C8.

Also because the sports car from Maranello spent more time in the workshop than it was able to drive.

Mos also couldn't predict what would happen next.

And after just a few weeks, Mos seems to be happier with the Corvette than with his Ferrari.

“I've tried other cars and it's just hard to beat a Corvette.

I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not, but GM really has built a better Ferrari!” he concluded.

An opinion with which the ex-Ferrari owner is not alone:

  • "Wow, I had no idea that Ferrari was such crap."

  • "You're right.

A better and cheaper reliable Ferrari.

    Good decision.!

  • "I feel for you, I've owned jaguars."

  • “I have a friend who drove an F355 every day.

The car was an absolute money-wasting machine.

If you drove behind him, $100 bills would fly out of the tailpipes.”
