Not just a new model in the range but the opening of a new course that Ford has taken.

The all-electric Explorer, the zero-emission SUV that Ford unveiled today as a world premiere, combines American style with a modern and future-oriented DNA of the Blue Oval. The new Explorer is also the first in a series of models that

will their appearance from here on out and which will make up the range of 100% electric vehicles from Ford, paving the way for a new interpretation of the brand in Europe.

The 100% electric Explorer is a medium-sized SUV that fits between Puma and Kuga in terms of size and seats up to five, with all the necessary equipment to embark on a journey.

Built in Europe, for Europe, the newcomer was designed and built in Germany, in Cologne, in the same factory, suitably converted to new needs, used until now for the production of Fiesta.

Also designed in futuristic terms is the digital experience on board, to always stay connected, in maximum comfort, while on the move, thanks to the Sync Move2 with 15'' touchscreen, adjustable in height and an infotainment system fully connected with a audio designed to optimize listening in the passenger compartment.

The 450-litre trunk in the five-seater configuration also makes you think of travel and adventure, in addition to the rich equipment that includes innovative solutions such as the 17-litre MegaConsole between the driver and the front passenger, which can hold a 15'', in addition to the My Private Locker to hide personal belongings and the Hands-Free opening of the trunk.

Outside, the styling is futuristic and is matched by a cabin finished in premium materials, sculpted sports seats and a Next-Generation Soundbar, a design more common on concept cars than estate cars.

Charging will be rapid, from 10 to 80% in just 25 minutes, with the possibility of accessing 500,000 charging points across Europe by next year.

"Explorer - said Martin Sander, general manager of Ford Model and Europe - is the forerunner of a new generation of Ford electric vehicles. Strengthened by our American origins, built in Cologne for Europe, it is ready for great adventures and equipped with everything our customers need in their daily commute".

Available in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive variants, the Explorer will arrive in dealerships at the end of December, will be available in two versions each with specific dedicated details, Explorer and Explorer Premium and can be booked from today on the dedicated page of the ford.it website.
