Naim never studied acting.
He is a policeman who became an actor thanks to the director Yaron Shani.
In an interview with Haaretz a few years ago, he said: "I'm sitting at home, I was under suspension from the police, and suddenly I get a call. There's a voice on the other end that I don't recognize. The guy introduces himself as Yaron Shani, a director, and says that I might want to participate in his film. Besides I really like movies, what about me and the director of a movie? Where did you come up with Ali? He explains to me that he wants to meet and talk because he is looking for ex-cops. I was sure he was confused about me. I came to hang up the phone and then he told me that he got my phone from a friend who was with me In the officers' course. From there things progressed and we met for coffee. I started coming to improvisation workshops once a week. I had nothing to do at home anyway."
