Last week the couple Israel and Chava Cordova and their children came from Tzur Yitzhak to receive their new electric Geely Geometry C.

She was waiting for them decorated with balloons, with Ronen Yavlon, CEO of Geely Israel, by her side. This is how it is when you deliver the 10,000th car in less than a year and a half.

Since then the numbers have been updated and Geely is the second brand to reach a five-digit number, after Tesla, which has already delivered 13,033 cars in Israel within two years. BYD is expected to reach five figures in about a month, after having delivered 9,066 cars in just six months.

According to data from the Automobile Importers Association, 16,500 new electric cars were delivered in the first quarter of this year, compared to 4,900 in the first quarter of 2022, a jump of 230%. - 200 new trams hit the road every working day since the beginning of the year.

So it is not surprising that even after March, the BYD Auto 3 maintained its position as the best-selling car in Israel this year, not only the best-selling electric car, with 5,602 units.

In second place is the Mazda 2 with 3,380 units, and in third is another electric, the Geometric C with 3,102 units.
