The facelift of the Toyota Corolla - the bread and butter family of the Japanese car manufacturer received its first facelift earlier this year, and is now starting its marketing in Israel.
Specifications obtained by Walla Car indicate that in addition to the updates to the drive system, the car also receives a package of safety systems that are more advanced than ever and the most comprehensive in the segment, but alongside all of this, it presents a series of price increases of between NIS 4,000 and NIS 8,000 depending on each of the three trim levels of its hybrid version .
So here is everything you need to know about Toyota's new family car and what has changed in relation to the outgoing version, who are its competitors and what are the exact prices.

Externally, the interior Corolla remains almost unchanged in regards to the exterior design, with the exception of changes in the front and rear lighting units.
Also, the external dimensions of 4.63 meters in overall length, 270 cm in the wheelbase and 470 liters in the trunk remain unchanged - which still leaves it a little behind compared to the main competitors Hyundai Elantra and Skoda Octavia (with the exception of the Octavia's wheelbase which is 269 cm) M).
This configuration of hers, the sedan, is also the only one that will arrive in Israel after the facelift with the scrapping of the station wagon that was actually successful in the vehicle fleets, but according to the importer is not included in the production allocation for the local market.

The more substantial differences are inside the cabin, where all variants except the base SUN get a 10.5-inch screen (9-inch locally installed on the SUN) and a 12.3-inch dashboard.
All trim levels make use of the latest generation of Toyota TTS 3.0 safety systems, but only the top LIMITED trim level gets all the systems.
On the list: automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure correction, sign recognition and a system to prevent children from being left in the car.
According to the manufacturer, these systems are also improved in terms of the hardware of the cameras and their detection capabilities, and will enable remote updating (OTA) for these systems in the future.
More in the accessories of the renewed Corolla in the SUN trim level: compatibility with Apple and Android, a rear camera (locally installed), 16-inch rims, split climate control, air conditioning ports and two USB C sockets for those sitting in the back, and more.
Above it, there is the SENSE finish level where, as mentioned, the larger original multimedia screen of 10.5 inches, dark rear windows, keyless entry, lighting in the sun visors and instead of a spare wheel, it receives a repair kit.
The highest trim level LIMITED gets 17-inch rims, a sunroof, fog lights, a wireless charging pad, vehicle detection in a "dead zone" with a door opening warning in the event of a passing vehicle and rear cross traffic warning.

In terms of drive systems, the one that will be at the center of interest is of course the hybrid, which receives the new and fifth generation of this drive system.
We already met it in the Corolla Cross Hybrid and, like there, here too it will offer an increase from 121 hp to 140 hp, which in addition to more available power will shorten the acceleration time to 100 from 10.8 seconds to 9.1 seconds.
In addition to power, there is also more efficiency with better regenerative charging and another use of it as a safety measure when it is used to slow down the car in case of detecting too fast an entry in front of it for example.

As expected and as already mentioned at the launch of the renewed Corolla, the increase in the prices of new cars does not miss it.
However, contrary to the early predictions of "starting at NIS 160,000", the price increase, although not eliminated, does not exceed the NIS 160,000 threshold, at least not in the entry version with reduced equipment.
While its competitors start at 158 thousand shekels and up to 170 thousand shekels in the case of the Elantra, 146,700 up to 158,800 in the case of the Octavia with the 1.0 liter engine or 149,400 up to 162,800 in the case of the 1.5 liter engine.
Toyota Corolla will cost starting at NIS 158,000 for the SUN trim level (4,000 NIS more expensive), will go up to NIS 160,000 for the SENSE trim level (also here, NIS 4,000) and will reach NIS 168,000 for the LIMITED trim level (NIS 8,000 more expensive).
