Member of Knesset Tali Gottlieb (Likud) said today (Sunday) in an interview with the "Kol Brama" radio station that the writer and poet Yonatan Geffen, who passed away last week at the age of 76, does not represent the State of Israel.

"He said about Netanyahu that the wrong brother died in the context of Yoni Netanyahu, the hero who fell in the Entebbe operation," Gottlieb told interviewers Yikki Adamker and Israel Cohen.

"Should I eulogize the person who wrote terrible columns about the right and religious people?" she wondered.

The interviewers answered her: "But from the point of view of the left, he represents the beautiful State of Israel."

In response, she replied: "In my eyes, he represented drinking, drugs, burglaries and bohemianism."

Culture Minister Miki Zohar told "Meet the Press" on Channel 12 last night that he assumes that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu did not pay tribute to the writer and poet Yonatan Gefen because he was hurt by him because of a segment of the satire program "Mechum Makhor" that was broadcast a few years ago.

In the clip, Yonatan Gefen is seen next to Gouri Alfi as he says: "Bibi Netanyahu, the wrong brother who survived."

"I think I can assume the reason why Netanyahu did not eulogize Gefen," said the Minister of Culture.

"I think Geffen made a very harsh statement that personally hurt Netanyahu. I personally did not agree with his views, but I am the Minister of Culture and Sports and trust the world of culture. It seems to me that in terms of my role I should have described the things that he contributed to the world of culture in Israel, and he did a lot for it."
