Skoda Karoq will be replaced by an electric one and it will happen already next year.

Unlike the Aniac, which joined the existing range, this will be the first time that the Czech Volkswagen-owned manufacturer stops producing a model with an internal combustion engine in favor of an electric model.

It is not yet clear what the meaning will be for Seat, whose Atka is a version of the Karoq that Skoda produces for it: whether production will continue exclusively for the Spanish company, or whether Seat will lose one of its best-selling models in Israel.

Yesterday, Skoda revealed new details about the timetable for its transition to electricity, with a promise of six electric models by 2026, at the same time as the launch of new, and possibly last, generations of the Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq.

This is what we now know about the line of defense that Skoda will place against the onslaught of Chinese models that will land on Europe and us in the coming years.

New Superb and Kodiak:

In the last quarter of 2023, the next generations of the two popular models will be revealed, which will continue to offer gasoline, light hybrid, plug-in and even diesel versions.

Octavia:

a new generation will be launched in 2024, in hatchback and station wagon versions as today, and with a range of engines similar to the Superb and Kodiak, for those who are not yet interested in or cannot purchase a full electric car

Karuk:

will be replaced next year by the Alrock, a 4.5 meter long electric crossover, which will share Platform and additional components with the Aniac, but will be cheaper than it.

Small electric crossover:

will be launched in 2025, as a Skoda version of the Volkswagen ID.2 and the Copra Urban Rebel.

About 4.1 meters long, but a promise of interior space and a trunk the size of the compact scale.

It will be produced in two battery versions, 38 and 56 kWh, with the latter showing an official range of 450 km.

Aniac:

will continue to be produced at the same time as the wave of launches, and will undergo a facelift in 2025 in both versions, the regular and the coupe.

Electric station wagon:

Octavia station wagon is one of Skoda's best-selling models, and the Czechs want to keep its customers with the electric era.

For them, a dedicated electric station wagon will be launched in 2026, without a corresponding hatchback version, in an attempt not to kill the Octavia yet.

7-seater electric crossover:

The production version of the S7 concept car from last year will go into production in 2026, with a length of 4.9 meters and a promise of generous interior space.

The concept also promised a range of 600 km from an 89 kWh battery, in three years we will know if it will materialize.
