Polestar 2 has targeted competition from the United States. With its 4 meters and 60 centimeters long by 1 meter and 47 centimeters high and just under 2 meters wide with mirrors included, the five-seater sedan of Polestar seems in fact born to compete with models that as a reference point have, to date, the Tesla Model 3.
Marked and multifaceted lines, combined with rounded wheel arches and a static all-road set-up, make the Polsetar 2 original in the mare magnum of the new electric cars. A concentrate of design whose exterior style starts from the bonnet, defined by two ribs, which flows up to the closed mask and the headlights reminiscent of Volvo's close relative, complete with stylized Full LEDs along the lines of Thor's Hammer.
The style of a sedan of the past, however, is honored by the tail that drops suddenly. A further touch of Scandinavian minimalist design is also given by the frameless rear-view mirrors. Large, the wheels, 19 or 20 inches but that intent to the defined lines of the bodywork seem even larger. The large yellow lacquered brake calipers are also impressive.

For the ANSA Motori road test we sat behind the wheel of the Polestar 2 in the Performance trim, i.e. equipped with Brembo brake calipers, adjustable Ohlins suspension and, above all, a power given by the two permanent magnet synchronous motors equal to 350 kW, or 50 kW more than the Dual Motor Long Range version.
These numbers easily translate into a definition of car that yes, aims to be sporty and ready for lightning shooting, but which is equally suitable for everyday use. The close kinship with Volvo, hinted at in the exterior, is more than evident on the inside. Some parts, such as the steering wheel, are practically the same, as is the perceived quality, both in materials and in assemblies. Vegan upholstery (made without resorting to animal products) and lighter fabrics than classic leather (available on request) are also standard.
On the dashboard that stands out for the almost total absence of physical controls, the protagonist is the infotainment, with an 11.15-inch tablet that integrates the Google voice assistant, Google Maps and Google Store that make human-machine interaction intuitive and above all simple. The entire range of Polestar 2 is divided into four variants, from the base of the Standard range Single motor, with a price of 52,200 euros for a declared range of 470 km, up to the Long Range Dual Motor Performance, which reaches the price of 65,700 euros and range reaches 480 km.
