Family incident in Finistère. Saturday night, a man, a woman and a young girl were injured by their dog, an American bulldog, in Guimiliau (Finistère), according to information from Ouest France.
Firefighters and gendarmes were mobilized on site, at the family home. The 13-year-old woman and girl were injured in the hand, the newspaper reported. The man was more seriously affected. Bitten in the face, he was transported to Brest in a condition deemed "serious".
An open investigation
Dog handlers from the gendarmerie were dispatched to the scene to control the animal, reports the local daily. The American Bulldog was euthanized on Sunday.
An investigation has been opened by the Brest prosecutor's office to discover the circumstances of this incident, assures Le Télégramme. As a reminder, the American Bulldog is not in the list of dogs considered dangerous by the authorities.
Incidents of this kind have occurred recently. A few weeks ago, two molossians attacked two women, their mistresses, in a pavilion in Achères, Yvelines. The victims, wounded in the legs and arms, were transported to the hospital of Mantes-la-Jolie.
