A new illegal rave party takes place in France. While an event bringing together more than 1,500 people takes place this weekend in Isère, another rave-party is underway in Hérault. Nearly 6,000 people participate in the wilderness in the town of Viols-en-Laval, a village located 20 km north of Montpellier, according to the prefecture.
So we have to stop our legal village festivals at 1am but the illegal rave-parties of 10,000 people that last 4 days do not bother anyone?
And it is up to the people who work to respect the outlaws, long live the France...#prefetherault #raveparty pic.twitter.com/JA6mFrk6ku

"The participants in this illegal rave-party arrived massively in the night from Saturday to Sunday, generating significant traffic difficulties, on an unsuitable ground difficult to access," says the statement of the prefecture, which also mentions the presence on the scene of "1,500 vehicles of all kinds (light vehicles, caravans, trucks, motorhomes)".
About fifty gendarmes mobilized
The area where this event takes place illegally, classified as a Natura 2000 area, is "composed of scrubland and cramped tracks", recalls the prefecture.
About fifty gendarmes are mobilized "to improve traffic flow and secure the surroundings. The perimeter is monitored to prevent the arrival of new participants and many controls are put in place," she continues.
Fire risk
"Faced with the risk of fire and the difficulties of access of the rescue, an awareness of the organizers was carried out by the firefighters of the SDIS 34 and the gendarmes," also notes the prefecture.
A medical post has been set up to provide first aid and risk prevention associations are also present on site.
