The winners of the Sokolov Prize for Print and Electronic Communication from the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality for 2023 have been selected. This year, the Sokolov Prizes for Print Journalism will be awarded to The Marker's economic commentator Merav Arlozorov and the Seventh Eye website. This year, the Sokolov Prize for Electronic Media will be awarded to News 12's legal correspondent Guy Peleg and documentary filmmaker and director Shani Haziza.

In their reasons for choosing Arlozorov, Justices Gal Gabay, Yifat Glick, Ohad Hamo, Prof. Oren Meyers and Prof. Liat Stier-Livni wrote: "In economic columns she has been writing over the years, Arlozorov maintains journalistic depth backed by data and information that can renew the public and mediate daily reality to it in an accessible manner." The reasons for choosing the Seventh Eye stated: "The Seventh Eye is always there to point out the not always satisfactory manner in which the Israeli media mediates reality to the public and to expose media consumers to the hidden moves that take place behind the scenes and shape the content, scope and framing of coverage of the Israeli reality."

In their reasons for choosing Guy Peleg, Justices Nachum Barnea, Tammy Litani, Roni Linder, Prof. Paul Poresh and Anat Sargosti wrote: "With courage and professionalism, without reluctance, he confronts public figures and attorneys with news he publishes from within the judicial system and live broadcasts in the studio." The reasons for choosing the two Haziza stated: "Haziza's work, from the beginning of her career, as a researcher, indicates impressive professional development."

The prizes in the amount of NIS 18,000 will be awarded to each and every one of the winners at a ceremony to be held on Sunday, September 10, at the Einav Cultural Center, in the presence of Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor Ron Huldai and with the participation of the judges, winners of this year's prize and winners of the prize in previous years.
