Highlights: Gamma-like fast waves were recorded in two brain-dead patients. This observation raises the question of the possible link with near-death experiences. About 15% of cardiorespiratory arrest survivors report having had a NDE. In nine out of ten cases, these are characterized by an intense sense of peace and well-being. And in three quarters of cases: the vision of a very bright light that attracts you or a light tunnel; an alteration in the perception of time.
