A man killed by a knife was found Monday night at the entrance of a metro station south of Rennes. An investigation has been opened for murder, said Tuesday the prosecutor's office.
The victim, "whose identity has not yet been established", was found "at the entrance of the Henri Fréville station, around 23:15 p.m.", said the prosecutor of the Republic of Rennes, Philippe Astruc. A prosecutor attended the scene, accompanied by a forensic doctor. The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
No one has been arrested yet. The circumstances of the death remain unknown at this time. According to the newspaper Ouest-France, the man was 30 years old and was the victim of several machete blows.
The investigation was entrusted to the territorial directorate of the judicial police of Rennes.
