The electric car is connected to the municipality's electrical cabinet (Photo: Photos of surfers, Walla surfers)
When it comes to electric cars, the ability to charge them wherever there is an available power outlet results in very creative solutions. And after seeing extension cords dangling from the third and fourth floors, hanging over the sidewalks and other creative solutions, we come across another "patent conch." But this time not only an option to connect and charge the car, but also to do it in a central, shaded location and without paying for parking and charging.
This photo, which reached the Walla!Car system, was taken in the early afternoon under a bridge near the train station in Bnei Brak, near the spiral stairs of pedestrians. At the base of the stairs is an electrical cabinet belonging to the municipality, next to which is parked a Tesla Model Y with a charging cable attached.
Charging prices are climbing? It is also free (Photo: Walla!, Udi Etzion)
We recently reported here on the increase in electric charging rates among public station providers, which even after the increase leave electric cars cheaper to "refuel" than gasoline cars, not to mention home charging where the cost of a kilowatt-hour of electricity is 60 agorot.
But there are those who may also have too many rates, especially when you can get it for free. And when all you need is to find an electrical cabinet in a side location out of sight, it's a very tempting solution.
We contacted the Bnei Brak Municipality for comment regarding the pirated connection on its face. When you arrive, we'll publish it.
