Kia Seltos, Kia's compact crossover, received a positive reception from customers in Israel. At a cheaper price than the Sportage, with a "tougher" and more combat design than the Excid, but in no significantly smaller dimensions it offered a pleasant package for the ride, even if not very sophisticated or technological. And like any model, it requires mid-life care to stay fresh and relevant in the face of a market with new and renewed competitors.
Now marketing begins in Israel of the Kia Seltos facelift, which includes not only an update to the exterior design, but also a refresh of the cabin and safety systems. As far as the engine and gearbox are concerned, there is no change.

The exterior features new bumpers, headlights, and grille at the front and a new tailgate design, including the rear light units. In the interior, the most notable change is Kia's "unified screen" appearance from its latest models, which places the digital instrument cluster and multimedia screen, both 10.25 inches in the same frame. But this is what you see in the manufacturer's photos from abroad and to us comes the cockpit with a combined analog and digital panel with a 4.2-inch display.
The model will be sold in two trim levels. EX will be the entry-level version with climate control and reverse air conditioning ports, built-in WAZE, remote drive from the remote control, heating for the front seats, compatibility with Apple and Android and more.
The senior trim level, Premium expands the list for leather-and-fabric upholstery, LED rear lights, colorful ambient lighting and adaptive cruise control.

The advanced list of safety accessories includes lane departure correction, automatic braking, blind-spot vehicle warning, rear cross-traffic detection including braking and more. However, only the higher trim level also includes left-turn collision risk detection at an intersection, road sign recognition and, as mentioned, adaptive cruise control.
As far as the propulsion system is concerned, there is no change. It's still an atmospheric 2.0-litre engine with 149 hp and 18.3 kgm, which transfers power to the front wheels via a sequential gearbox. Performance: 9.3 seconds per 100, maximum 190 km/h and a combined declared fuel consumption of 13.1 km per litre. Abroad, the model is also marketed with a 1.6 turbo engine of 195 hp and an automatic transmission with 8 transmission ratios.

Like almost every car, or product, the Seltos is also going up in price. And a price tag of NIS 150,153 for the EX trim level in the past and NIS 156,160 for the EX Plus It climbs to NIS <>,<> for the EX which will be the entry version (the Urban trim level does not continue) and up to NIS <>,<> for the premium trim level. Its local competitors, the Chevrolet Trax, Toyota C-HR, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Suzuki S Cross, Skoda Kamik and more, are also already in these price ranges and a little further north.
