The management of Kan Corporation has decided that the selection of the Israeli representative for Eurovision 2024 will return to the program "The Next Star" of Keshet 12.
The surprising decision was made despite the positive reverberations that were made by Kan, as Israel's representative for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, and despite the fact that she came in a respectable third place. "The decision was made, among other things, due to the heavy costs of financing preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest and sending the Israeli delegation to Liverpool – a cost that the corporation seeks to invest in new quality content."
Kan and Keshet previously collaborated for six seasons, culminating in Neta Barzilai winning first place with the song "Toy" following which the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Israel in 2019.
