Better late than never: iOS already has a built-in feature that provides battery health information on your smartphone, but this feature hasn't been inherently present on Android, and has been provided by third-party apps like AccuBattery.
Now, a developer named Mishael Rahman has revealed that BatteyManager interfaces have been added to the beta version of Android 14, indicating the expected addition of the feature to the next version of Android. Two of the interfaces provide information about charge cycle counts and charging status, while the others provide information about battery manufacturer, date of manufacture, when it was activated, charging policy and capacity.

At the moment, the features are only available to Pixel devices running beta version 2 or later, but developers have already started playing with them and writing crude apps that report the data to the user, although it is still difficult to assess the reliability and accuracy of the data. However, all signs suggest that this feature will be officially added to Android 14 soon, rolling out to all users from October onwards.
