Trailer for The Little Mermaid (Disney)
During a screening of Disney's hit film "The Little Mermaid" in Orlando, Florida, a big fight broke out between several parents. The incident, also videotaped and posted on TikTok, shows adults arguing with each other, screaming at each other — all in front of a hall full of children. Many moviegoers were angry at the adults who interrupted them at the screening and blocked their screens - and demanded a "refund of the ticket", and in the end the cinema was forced to stop the screening and resume later. It is unclear from the video what caused the commotion to break out.
As of May 28, 2023, the film has earned $118.8 million in the United States and Canada, and $79 million in other territories, for a total of $197.8 million. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a 68% rating based on 252 reviews, with an average rating of 6.4/10.

Here in Walla! Culture critic Naama Rak wrote: "As an elaborate replay of the original, 'The Little Mermaid' is a really good movie. Just don't expect anything more from him. There is no new depth here, a different interpretation of the plot and any character, just a remake in vivid colors and with nice cinematography (don't be intimidated by the dark trailers - it's a very bright and colorful film). Fortunately, if you want a completely new and much more far-reaching interpretation of this story, there are two other animated versions that have done it great: Hayao Miyazaki's "Fonio on the Cliff by the Sea" is a surreal, strange and child-appropriate interpretation of the same story, while Disney's "Luca" moves even further away from the original fairy tale and tells the story of a boy from a family of sea monsters who escapes from home to a small human town in Italy. Give them a chance, and you probably won't regret it."
