Police and firefighters are on site. A bomb threat led to the emergency evacuation of the Jeu-de-Mail college in Montpellier (Hérault) late Thursday morning, reports the daily Midi Libre.
Teachers, students and administrative staff have been sheltered in the gymnasium while police, firefighters and deminers intervene on site for "checks inside the establishment".
The current operation
"Please avoid the area for the duration of the operation to facilitate the intervention of the troops engaged," said the police on Twitter, which has established a security perimeter.

Contacted by Le Parisien, the municipal police only confirmed that the intervention was still ongoing on the spot, and could not give a time for lifting the security perimeter.
According to France 3, this alert was launched by an anonymous email received by the principal of the college, explaining that an explosive device had been hidden in the establishment. But nothing has been found yet.
The threat may be real, but it could also be a hoax.
