Soldier Osher Beniso, who was filmed singing in the south with David Broza in a video that went viral, will receive a scholarship worth NIS 30,<> a year from Rimon Music School for three years of study. This was after Broza recommended her to Yehuda Ader, Rimon's president.
Broza came to the south to encourage the soldiers and residents, and met a female soldier in Ofakim who told him she loved to sing. Broza covered Carole King's "You've Got A Friend" with her. The video of the song went viral, moved many - and the very next day she was informed that she had won a scholarship for a pomegranate.
"It's a fairytale-like story," says LaValle! Judah Herd culture. "David sent me this minute-something clip, I went crazy about it. I put it on my Facebook and it reached a thousand and something shares. The video exploded, all over the world talking to David about this minute. That's how show business is, you work so hard, and then you meet someone in Ofakim and it explodes. David is a friend of Rimon's and offered to take her to us, and I said, 'We're taking her to Rimon.' I spoke to Osher twice, it turned out that her dream was to come to the pomegranate. She's currently in combat so she won't be able to join for the upcoming school year, but we'll build a program for her to prepare her for topics like theory. We are supposed to open Rimon on November 5, hope it will be possible, are prepared for any scenario and are already giving workshops on Zoom."
