This 27-year-old man, well known to the courts for similar acts, is on trial from this Monday and for three days by the Charente-Maritime assizes.
It was the concierge of one of the two victims, an 84-year-old retiree, who helped trace the attacker of this woman who was raped in the lobby of her building one Sunday in 2021, in the early morning.
The employee of the residence had testified to having spotted a construction worker who had been given the building code.
The concierge had even noted the eyes on the resident, a “jackal” look, he said, according to France Bleu.
The suspect, Aston V., is placed in police custody: his profile and his clothes match those observed on the video surveillance images of the hall where the rape was committed.

But this time, assures the suspect, the relationship was consensual.
Aston V., a polydrug addict, who says he is addicted to alcohol, cannabis, and LSD, believes that it is these substances that make him “do stupid things”.
Already convicted for similar offenses when he was 14 years old in Reunion, he is also known for a six-month sentence after a theft from a garden center in the La Rochelle region in 2022. Since his release from prison in 2021, he was the subject of socio-judicial monitoring by the sentence enforcement judge of La Rochelle, indicates Sud Ouest.
The accused faces life imprisonment.
