In the motor insurance class, against a reduction in the average premium per policy net of taxation in 2022 of 303 euros (-9.2% compared to 2019), in the first half of 2023 there was an increase to 312 euros.
This is what emerged from the Ivass Statistical Bulletin on insurance activity in the motor sector.
The claims frequency is 5.13% (4.92% in 2021) for a total burden of 9.4 billion euros.
The average cost of claims is 5,000 euros, +7.7% compared to the pre-Covid period.
In 2022, premiums of 11.7 billion euros were collected (-2.1%), in the first 6 months of 2023 the collection rose again to 6.1 billion.
