Tesla is recalling around 200,000 electric cars.
The rear view camera may fail on certain models.
A software update should fix the problem.
Recalls by car manufacturers vary enormously in terms of their effort: sometimes there are “only” a few thousand vehicles that are ordered to the workshop, as was recently the case with Ford for the Kuga model.
But it also works in other dimensions: The Japanese manufacturer Toyota recently had to recall a million cars due to airbag problems.
And the electric car manufacturer Tesla now also has to announce a recall in the USA - a possible failure of the reversing camera leads to a potential risk of accident.

Rear view camera can fail: Tesla has to recall around 200,000 vehicles
As the US traffic safety authority
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
announced, the Tesla recall affects 199,575 vehicles.
The rearview camera may fail on 2023 Model S, Model X, and Model Y vehicles.
The culprit is a software problem that can occur in vehicles with “Full Self-Driving” and software versions between 2023.44.30 and 2023.44.30.6 or 2023.44.100.

A free over-the-air update (OTA) is intended to fix the problem.
The
NHTSA
calls the recall “24V-035”.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted.
There is currently no recall on the subject mentioned in the recall database of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
It wasn't that long ago that Tesla had to recall two million vehicles due to problems with the "Autopilot".
It was also announced here that the problem would be solved via an OTA update.
Recall letter in Germany: If you receive one, you should act quickly
In Germany, too, as a vehicle owner you receive a letter if your vehicle is affected by a recall.
It is important to note that such a letter is not a recommendation.
Anyone who receives a recall letter must have the defect listed therein remedied.
If an owner does not comply with the recall even after several requests, the KBA can inform the local registration authority - which in turn can take the car out of service.
After receiving the recall letter, it is best to visit a workshop quickly.
