Office chair seat serves as a backrest in Nissan - construction “stabilized” with laundry basket

Reddit that will leave most drivers amazed.
The image uploaded to the subreddit “Justrolledintotheshop” (in German: “Just rolled into the workshop”) shows the badly battered interior of an older model Nissan Altima.
The backrest of the driver's seat in the vehicle was clearly defective - which is why the owner found a "creative" solution to the problem.
The seat of an office chair serves as a backrest replacement in the car.
Because the legs of the office chair did not extend to the backrest of the rear bench, the chair was extended with a laundry basket clamped between them and thus “stabilized”.

Undoubtedly, the office chair solution in the car is daring from a safety perspective - to put it very carefully.
A user asks ironically in the comments whether the oil bottle behind the seat serves the structure of the construction.
In the event of an accident, the whole thing would certainly have serious health consequences for the driver.
According to the uploader, the car in the photo was brought in for its annual safety inspection - and "thoroughly failed."
In the USA there is no uniform “main inspection” like in Germany.
Some US states require a vehicle safety inspection - others do not.

However, such cases do not only occur in the USA: In North Rhine-Westphalia a VW was stopped some time ago using a stool as a driver's seat - and an Austrian even drove around on a beer crate.
