Opel had not seen such a high growth rate for 20 years: in 2023 global sales increased by 16%, reaching a total of around 670 thousand registrations, also the highest number in the last 4 years.

"We can look to 2023 as a very strong year - said Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel - we have grown significantly. In particular we have achieved significant results in electric models, in the C segment and in light commercial vehicles".

"And we were also able to significantly expand our international business. This is clear proof that our strategy is working."

Opel ended 2023 with a share of around 5.3% in the German domestic market while in the United Kingdom - where the brand operates under the Vauxhall brand - a market share of 6% was achieved.

Success was also high in Turkey, where the market share is also 6%.

Around 90 thousand sales (+22% compared to the previous year) of Opel electric models impressively demonstrate the success of the electrification offensive of the German Stellantis brand.

And the increase - equal to 62% - in registrations outside Europe is also really high, confirming the success of the internationalization strategy.

In total, these are 101 thousand vehicles which correspond to 15% of the brand's total sales.

Plus 26%: this is the result obtained by Opel (plus Vauxhall) in sales of light commercial vehicles.

125 thousand units were delivered worldwide and in particular the German brand has secured a leadership position among electric vans in the European market (Eu 29) with approximately 17 thousand units of Combo Electric, Vivaro Electric and Movano Electric.

.

Opel also continued to grow in the highly competitive C segment: Astra doubled its European sales (EU 29) and ranked fifth in its segment in Germany.

Overall, Opel recorded significant growth globally by selling around 57 percent more Astra and Grandland compared to 2022.

The Corsa once again proved to be the best-selling model.

In the company's two largest markets, Germany and the United Kingdom, it was the most popular choice in the B-segment. In Greece, the Opel Corsa was even the best-selling car overall in the country.

In addition to leading in Germany and the United Kingdom, the Corsa Electric took second place in registration statistics in its segment in Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Austria.

Finally, the Mokka Electric was the most popular B-SUV in the UK and ranked second in Germany, Spain, Poland and Belgium.
