Fear of a cyber attack:
following suspicious activity on the servers belonging to the Ministry of Education and some of its websites this evening (Tuesday), it was suspected that the government body's systems had undergone a cyber attack.
Among the services that are unavailable due to the attack is the teaching staff portal which is used by the staff to obtain general and personal information, submit requests and inquiries, generate online certificates and more.

It has not yet become clear what the scale of the incident was or who is behind it, but in light of the major cyber attacks that various bodies and institutions in the country have undergone since the start of the "Iron Swords" war, the Ministry of Education decided to remove the suspicious server immediately.
The Ministry of Education stated that "the main website of the Ministry was not attacked and it is working as usual."
Also - there is no indication of leakage of sensitive information from the office's systems.
At the same time, after suspicious activity was detected in the external server farm, the office immediately acted to remove the suspicious server from the air.
This is a server that supports some of the content sites of the ministry's units and two of the ministry's portals, which do not contain personal information or sensitive data.
The incident is now under investigation."
There was no response from the digital system as of writing these lines.
We will continue to bring developments in the event as they arise.
