“Last generation” gluing campaigns led to long traffic jams nationwide.
This should be over now.
The radical climate activists are changing their protest strategy.
The radical activists of the “Last Generation” were better known to most drivers as “climate glue.”
The first campaigns started in 2022, with which the participants not only antagonized car owners.
Emergency vehicles, for example, often lost important time in the traffic jams caused by the gluing campaigns.
Occasionally, drivers lost their temper during the actions and became violent against the activists - for example during adhesive protests in Berlin or Düsseldorf.
Recently, however, things had become quiet about the “Last Generation”.
Now the activists even announced the end of the adhesive protest.

“Chapter of sticking and roadblocks ends with this” – climate activists change strategy
In a statement, the “Last Generation” announced its “Strategy for 2024”.
Sticking to the street was important, the activists write.
Since then, the number of competitors has been “increased a hundredfold” – which has now opened up new opportunities.
They want to protest in a different form in the future, “the chapter of sticking and road blocking ends with this.”
Drivers in larger cities, where the sticking campaigns often took place, should be particularly happy about this.
Climate activists from the “last generation” repeatedly stuck to the streets and blocked traffic.

How the “last generation” wants to protest in the future
From March onwards they want to call for “disobedient gatherings”.
In addition, in the future they want to confront politicians and other decision-makers “publicly and in front of cameras.”
Furthermore, the “Last Generation” plans to make places of “fossil destruction” the target of protest.
The activists cited oil pipelines, airports and energy company premises as examples.
There were recently harsh punishments for some of the activists: in Heilbronn, for example, two men and a woman were each sentenced to prison sentences of several months.
The defendants had blocked a federal highway and some had already been convicted of blocking.
Lufthansa had demanded compensation of 740,000 euros after blockades at several German airports.
