The Lamborghini electric super sports car, a GT 2+2 with raised bodywork, anticipated last summer by the Lanzador concept, will be revealed to potential buyers and the general public in 2028, probably entering production at the beginning of 2029.

The fourth model will be followed in 2029 from the electric version of the company's super SUV.

Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of the Emilian company, clarified Toro's electric strategy during a live web broadcast with the main representatives of the Italian press.

"The Lanzador was a concept. The model - he explained - will be presented in 2028. Our cars are built for the end customer: we must therefore show them in advance of delivery, to collect orders, before starting production. The first ones from factory will most likely be released in 2029."

The year in which, then, it will be the turn of the brand's first electric super SUV.

The fourth model, he clarified, will be produced in Sant'Agata Bolognese, also using synergies with Audi and the entire Volkswagen Group.

For this reason, an important hiring plan is envisaged.

As regards the platforms, the CEO underlined: "On the super sports cars we do everything in house, with the cars for everyday use we have the possibility, as with the Urus, of using a Group platform".

For on-board batteries, "the choice has been made and is based on existing technology".

Then, Winkelmann clarified the brand's position on the ongoing transition to batteries: "We are focusing on electric and in this sense we will continue to develop. We will hold a clinic at a global level to understand what the 'sentiment' is towards a fully electric super sports car for everyday use. They are coming out now the hybrids, with a life cycle of 7-8-9 years, only in 3-4 years will we really have to decide what to do as the next step".

And again: "It's an opportunity that we don't want to leave unexplored, we'll see what happens in the next two years. We must be ready both to go through with the strategy announced with phev and hard and pure electric super sports cars, and to have the opportunity to use the synthetic petrol as an alternative, to continue with internal combustion engines beyond 2035-36, assuming that enough can be produced".
