A tragedy has left the village of Bosset, in Dordogne, in mourning.
A six-year-old child died on Monday January 29, after being crushed by his mother's car, the Bergerac prosecutor's office confirmed to Le Parisien.
The little boy was run over by a vehicle driven by his mother.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the child and his mother were returning from school by car.
The boy then got out of the car, passed in front of the bodywork and stumbled, without his mother realizing it.
The mother then allegedly advanced and crushed her son.
Transported in serious condition to Pellegrin hospital, in Bordeaux (Gironde), the little boy died in the evening.
For the moment, no legal action has been planned against the mother, the prosecution confirmed.
The father was present during the scene, but was not in the vehicle, according to France bleu Périgord.
The parents will be interviewed by the gendarmes but they are currently in a state of shock, according to information from Sud Ouest.
