The partnership between the Israeli company, Toyota and Denso was signed. Orno Ezer, CEO, Lavala: "Once there are enough vehicles with wireless charging, it will be right to add charging to the roads for them"

Toyota, its component supplier Denso and Electron from Maalot Gear: 10 months after reporting a memorandum of understanding for cooperation, the three companies signed a binding agreement to adopt the wireless charging system of the Israeli company from Yanai.

The partnership has committed to developing a wireless charging system that will be integrated into the models of the Toyota group, which also includes Lexus, Daihatsu and the Hino truck and bus division, already on the production line.

The partnership will be joint owners of the intellectual property that will be created as a result of the development of the new system and will share in the royalties resulting from the sale of the system to other car manufacturers.

At the same time, they will develop an 'aftermarket' system, which will be able to be added to existing electric and plug-in cars, and will allow wireless charging.

Electreon, which began its journey by developing wireless charging systems for installation on roads for charging while driving, has expanded to supply wireless charging systems in parking lots.

It already provides such positions for charging buses and the agreement with Toyota and Denso will introduce it to the production of such chargers for private vehicles.

Toyota and Denso have also committed to assist it in standardization conferences around the world in designing global standards for wireless car charging and to participate in two demonstrations, which will be held across Europe, the United States, Israel or Japan.

In 2023, Toyota maintained its position as the world's largest car manufacturer for the fourth year in a row, with sales of more than 11 million cars in the past year compared to about 9 million of the Volkswagen Group.

The charging product as an addition to existing cars will reach the market even before the end of the year and precede the cars that will leave the production line equipped with it.

"We are entering a company that sells the most private vehicles in the world," Oren Ezer, CEO and founder of Elektreon, told Walla Car. "The goal is to enter all of its platforms.

You can add wireless charging to an existing or second-hand bZ4X that you will buy, and in the future purchase a new Toyota that can be charged without a cable in the parking lot.

Once there are enough vehicles with wireless charging, it will be very logical and correct to add charging to the roads that will be used by them.

Taxis and shared vehicles will benefit from easier charging in the parking lot while waiting for the next ride."

Following the announcement, Electron's stock jumped 8% and is traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange with a market value of NIS 914 million.
