The tragedy occurred Tuesday morning, in the 8th arrondissement, at the corner of Cours de la Reine and Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt, not far from the Grand Palais.
A cyclist was riding her bike when a dump truck hit her while it was “starting a turn”, indicates the Paris prosecutor's office.
The woman, born in October 1991, died instantly.
His bike was “crushed under the rear wheels of the construction truck,” a source close to the case tells us.

The Paris public prosecutor's office has entrusted the judicial accident processing service (STJA) with the opening of an investigation into involuntary manslaughter by a driver.
“There are currently no aggravating circumstances in connection with the driver,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.
The driver “in shock”
The driver, “in shock”, thought he was “driving at walking pace”.
His alcohol impregnation test (DIA) and drug tests to which he underwent were negative.
The man was then taken to hospital to take blood samples.
In June 2023, a previous accident between a heavy goods vehicle and a cyclist occurred along Avenue du Général Leclerc, in the 14th arrondissement of the capital.
The victim then had both legs severed by the accident and his vital prognosis was in jeopardy.
