Luca disappeared after January 19 after an evening at Portet-sur-Garonne, near Toulouse (Haute-Garonne).
The authorities quickly considered the disappearance of this 21-year-old young man, from Cugnaux not far away, to be worrying.
This is confirmed by the sad discovery made Wednesday afternoon in Lake Saint-André in the town of Fabas, fifty kilometers north of the scene of his disappearance.
Three young people, aged 19, 21 and 22, were indicted last week for “organized gang murder”.
A fourth is currently in police custody, the Toulouse prosecutor's office said this Thursday.
“In all likelihood, the facts could be linked to a debt linked to drug trafficking,” the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office indicated in a previous press release.
On January 19, Luca, who had been the subject of calls for witnesses on social networks, spent the evening "with acquaintances", without ever returning to his home where his partner was waiting for him, according to the first elements of investigation.
The day after the young mechanic's disappearance, his vehicle was found burned, nearly 80 km from his home.
According to neighbors, heard by the gendarmes, screams were heard during the evening at the home of “acquaintances” whom the missing person had gone to visit.
Two people at whose home the evening took place and a third, seen driving the victim's vehicle, were then identified as possibly being linked to his disappearance.
A suspect already convicted
In police custody, the first three accused explain themselves and get confused.
“As the checks and their statements progressed, the death of the victim seemed more and more likely,” explains the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office.
At the same time, the police are busy following the route taken by the missing person's car before it was burned.
“Research has been carried out on these routes and the stopping points of the vehicle.
In particular, on a body of water where Luca's body could have been immersed,” explained the prosecution.
According to actu.fr, the young man's body was “weighted down” in the lake.
Among the first three accused, one was “still wearing an electronic bracelet following a previous conviction”.
The involvement of the fourth person taken into custody is not yet known at this stage.
