The new incentive plan arrives at the automotive table on February 1st.

Minister Adolfo Urso will present the decree of the President of the Council of Ministers (Dpcm) to remodulate the Ecobonus for the purchase of vehicles with low polluting emissions.

The minister has said on several occasions that the plan of around one billion in new incentives will have to mark "a turning point with the aim of reaching one million vehicles produced by Stellantis in Italy", but the timing is not yet clear.

We will also discuss the 'state of progress' of the working groups dedicated to the market, competitiveness, components, work and research.

Stellantis, the unions, the business and supply chain associations and the Regions will participate in the meeting.

Leading the company delegation will be Davide Mele, head of Corporate Affairs Italy, Daniele Chiari, head of Institutional Relations in Italy and Giuseppe Manca, head of Human Resources in Italy.

No announcements are expected on the car company that the government would like to bring to Italy to increase car production.

It is a process still underway and attention is focused on the Asian and North American markets: for now no names, but Chinese companies and Tesla are possible candidates.

At the center of Thursday's meeting are the expected incentives which, however, are unlikely to come into force before March.

"The government is working to attract at least a second manufacturer to Italy; various discussions are underway with various business entities and a dedicated task force has been set up which operates jointly with the Foreign Investment Attraction Committee" said Mimit undersecretary Massimo Bitonci.

The current incentives - the terms for bookings by dealers were reopened on 23 January - provide a maximum contribution of 5,000 euros for electric cars when scrapping a car between Euro 0 and Euro 4.

With the new Prime Ministerial Decree the discounts will be reach for electric cars will start from 6,000 euros (without scrapping) and will reach 13,750 euros if you scrap a Euro2 car and have an ISEE under 30 thousand euros.

The car for the purchase of a hybrid car will instead range from 4 to 10 thousand euros, and that for a low-emission car from 1,500 to 3,000 euros.

Corporate fleets and long-term rental will be facilitated and there will be a measure to incentivize the purchase of low-emission used cars.
