A total of 38,230 new cars were delivered in the first month of 2024 through regular and parallel imports, a 25% decrease compared to last January which recorded an all-time record, but higher than early estimates, following a series of sales promotions in January, deliveries that were postponed from last year and a higher than expected basic demand for a new car .

This is also the smallest decrease since October 7.

Hyundai Kona delivered almost 1,000 units/Kinan Cohen

Among the manufacturers, Hyundai maintains the first place for 15 years with almost 6,000 deliveries, and is ahead as usual in recent years of Kia (about 4,800) and Toyota (about 3,500).

The Chinese BYD maintains the fourth place (3,330) it achieved last year and is ahead of Mazda (2,681*.



Skoda is again the only European brand in the top ten, compared to three Chinese ones, with Geely in ninth place and MG in tenth. Mitsubishi in sixth place and Suzuki in eighth place Japanese threesome.

The electric BYD Eto 3 is the best-selling car, as it was in 2023, ahead of the Kia Picanto and Hyundai Elantra.

Among the top ten best-selling models is another electric one, the Geely Gitometric C, and two other models that some of their deliveries also come in electric versions, the Hyundai Kona and the Kia Niro.

Tesla delivered only seven cars left in its inventory this month, and is set to receive another large shipment this month.



Among the new brands launched in Israel in the first months, Expeng stands out with 301 deliveries, compared to 30 NIO models and 18 Zikar models.

As in the other months since the outbreak of the war, the luxury brands registered an even weaker month than the popular ones and significantly weaker than last January, when the share of the old German luxury brands in the market continues to decrease.

Mercedes continues to lead (666) ahead of BMW (631), Audi (430), Lexus (271), Volvo (224), Cupra (224), Jeep (185) and Genesis (171).



Link and Co delivered 145, Polestar 132 units, and Wey about 115.

Land Rover delivered 88, Via 65 and Cadillac 49.



At the top end of the market, Porsche delivered 43 cars and Ferrari 2.
