Calmobile, the importer of Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Mercedes, Genesis and ORA, is adding another brand to the long list: in the coming days, the import of Jaecoo, a new export brand of the Chinese Chery group, will be officially announced.
The company received the brand franchise that will focus on gasoline models and Omoda that will also offer electric models, alongside gasoline and plug-in.
At the same time, Frisby (formerly Carso) will continue importing the more popular Cherry models, including the electric ones.
The first model to be launched is the J7, a crossover with five seats, a design reminiscent of Land Rover models, including a luxury sign of door handles that are recessed into the doors and are pulled out by touch.

High equipment level/Jaecoo
A 1,600 cc turbo-gasoline engine with a power of 197 hp and a torque of 29 kgm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch robotic gearbox, provides acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, and the combined fuel consumption of 13.3 km per liter are relatively high.
A belly clearance of 20 cm and approach and departure angles of 21/29 degrees, along with the ability to handle water at a depth of 60 cm should provide a better off-road ability than the average in the category.
Length of 4.54 meters, width of 1.89 meters and a height of 1.68 meters, along with a wheelbase of 2.67 meters, are similar in dimensions to those of the Hyundai Tucson. The trunk has a volume of 412 liters.
The level of equipment is high: a central 14.8" screen, a 10.25" screen as a dashboard, original Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a display Elite, panoramic roof, delta electric trunk and more.

Large crossover, 6 seats/Jaecoo
The J8 will also be launched, a crossover the size of a Kia Sorento, with three rows of seats and 6 seats.
The turbo gasoline engine has 2 liters and 250 hp, and here too the drive is double.
The Jaco models will arrive towards the end of the year. The prices will be higher than the Chery models, but should be relatively competitive with European and Korean competitors.
