Firefighters made a sad discovery this Thursday morning.
Intervened at 5:30 a.m. for a fire in the cloakroom of the Chinese restaurant Le Panda, in Mont-Saint-Martin (Meurthe-et-Moselle), they discovered the body of a 40-year-old woman.
“The fire was quickly extinguished but a 40-year-old woman was found dead.
A seriously burned man was hospitalized in Arnon, Belgium,” firefighters told AFP.
The man is the victim's spouse, he would be 50 years old, according to France Bleu Lorraine.
According to the mayor of this town located on the border with Belgium, Serge de Carli, the man was transported to hospital with a life-threatening prognosis.
The fire apparently only affected the restaurant's cloakroom, the rest of the building is intact, according to local radio.
To put out the flames, the Sdis of Meurthe-et-Moselle was able to count on the reinforcement of Belgian colleagues.
In total, 18 firefighters intervened.
