The six-speed manual transmission was developed exclusively for the Z4 M40i.
This is a modular BMW transmission that incorporates M-specific components for the gear set and shafts, modified for the power of the straight-six engine.
The external shifting mechanism, which includes the gear lever, its guide and the connection to the transmission, was also tailor-made for the Pure Impulse edition.
If the interior of the BMW Z4 was created to offer driving pleasure in a modern sports car space, complete with model-specific sports seats with integrated headrests, the Pure Impulse edition includes M-specific design features for the interior , complemented by a series of details such as the M gear lever with model-specific sleeve and the Vernasca Cognac leather upholstery with black M piping.
