Will his arrest put an end to the series of fires targeting Parisian barges?
A 22-year-old man was placed in pre-trial detention following the immediate appearance hearing where he was brought this Thursday, early in the afternoon.
While he was to be tried for the fire on January 27 of the barge "Petrus III", as well as for violence committed against a police officer during his arrest, he will finally appear on March 7 in waiting for a more in-depth psychiatric assessment than that carried out during his custody.

Arrested on the Quai d'Austerlitz (12th century) on Tuesday January 30, Ibrahim Z. is suspected of being at the origin of the damage caused to this collector's boat, moored in the port of l'Arsenal (12th century), which had already was hit by a fire a few days earlier.
According to our information, his DNA matches that found on a stone which had been thrown to break the window of the barge.
“There were other DNA traces but it was the only one that could be used,” indicates his lawyer, Me Célia Chauffray, who specifies that “the facts are vigorously contested” by her client.
