An evening with “acquaintances” that turns sordid.
The body of a 21-year-old young man missing since January 19 near Toulouse was found in a lake, three men being indicted for “organized gang murder” in this case, according to the Toulouse public prosecutor's office.
According to the regional daily La Dépêche du Midi, the body was found Wednesday afternoon in Lake Saint-André, in the town of Fabas (Haute-Garonne), with the prosecution confirming the identity of the victim and the time of the discovery, without being able to specify which lake it was.
Apart from the three men aged 19, 21 and 22 who were indicted and placed in detention in this case, a fourth person is currently in police custody, the prosecution also indicated.
“In all likelihood, the facts could be linked to a debt linked to drug trafficking,” the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office indicated in a previous press release.
Vehicle found burnt 80 km from home
On January 19, the victim living in Cugnaux (south of Toulouse) went to spend the evening "with acquaintances", without ever returning to his home where his partner was waiting for him, according to the first elements of the investigation.
The day after his disappearance, his vehicle was found burned, nearly 80 km from his home.
The neighborhood investigation would allow the gendarmes to establish that screams had been heard during the evening at the home of “acquaintances” whom the missing person had gone to visit.
Two people at whose home the evening took place and a third, seen driving the victim's vehicle, were subsequently identified as possibly being linked to his disappearance.
