Sarah S., a 37-year-old artist photographer and part-time art and design teacher at a Christian school in Missouri in the United States, is accused of trying to slowly poison her husband, Matthew , 38, by incognito slipping lily of the valley roots into his food and drinks.
Without a spy camera to thwart this mother's plans, the famous bell plant could have sounded the death knell for the thirty-year-old.

The roots of lily of the valley, a plant of which all other parts (stem, leaf, flowers) are also toxic, can in fact present a serious danger, particularly to the heart, in the event of quantities ingested regularly over a short period.
However, the teacher based in Jefferson City, Missouri, allegedly applied this poisonous “recipe” for approximately six weeks, her husband having subsequently listed eight incidents, some of which caused him sudden and unexplained discomfort.
