More than four months after Lina's disappearance in Bas-Rhin, her mother spoke at a press conference accompanied by her lawyer this Friday.

The 15-year-old teenager has not given any sign of life since September 23, 2023 while she was walking to the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche station, located a few kilometers from her home.

Her boyfriend, Tao, not seeing her arrive, had raised the alarm.

Fanny Groll and her lawyer first praised “the work of the investigators” in trying to find the young girl.

However, they deplore not having more access to the file.

“We don’t know what’s going on,” regrets Me Matthieu Airoldi.

They reported this to the two investigating judges in charge of the investigations who received them this Thursday.

The magistrates expressed their “empathy” to them, added the lawyer.

Until this first hearing with the judges, Lina's mother and her lawyer had only been able to read "the preliminary investigation", i.e. the elements discovered in the first week following the young girl's disappearance.

A judicial investigation was opened against X for “kidnapping and sequestration not followed by voluntary release for more than seven days”.

In its last communication on the case, on October 2, the Strasbourg public prosecutor's office announced that the investigation was moving "towards long-term investigations

under the authority of the two investigating magistrates in charge of the case, (…) no avenue being ruled out or favored.”

This Thursday, the magistrates repeated to them that the investigation would be “long”.

“All the leads were verified”, some of which were “eccentric”, added Me Matthieu Airoldi.

Mediums, in particular, have contacted investigators, without success so far.

They hope to know more by mid-March.

“I still have hope”

“I still have hope.

This is what gets me up every morning.

There is no other choice but to keep hope,” confides Lina’s mother.

She thanks “all the people” who support her.

“I would like to know, to understand.

It's a terrible thing every day.

I think all the time.

I analyze, I hypothesize,” described Lina’s mother.

Fanny Groll “cut herself off from social networks” to protect herself from rumors circulating about her daughter.

“We can say things, as long as it helps us move towards the truth that’s good.

Afterwards, I denounce all abuses.

People don’t realize the harm they can do,” lamented Fanny Groll, who describes “comments” and “judgments”.

Her lawyer insists on her desire to “protect” her client.

Lina's mother considers the comments and judgments made about the young girl's supposed lifestyle before her disappearance to be "extremely violent."

“Hang on and come back quickly.”

I love you,” she implores, addressing her daughter.

The rape complaint will be re-examined

More than a year before her disappearance, Lina had filed a complaint for rape in June 2022. The young girl, then aged 13, had spent an evening at a friend's home in spring 2022 during which she allegedly had sexual relations with two young adults.

A complaint initially closed without further action.

On January 23, the Saverne public prosecutor's office (Bas-Rhin) indicated that the complaint would be the subject of a "new legal study".

Me Airoldi judges that he “does not understand the way in which this case was handled” by the courts, in particular the fact that the family had not been warned of this classification.

“My daughter was not protected,” said Fanny Groll.

The young girl's mother will become a civil party to allow the case to be re-examined by the Saverne public prosecutor's office.

Disappearance of Lina: “At this stage, we are not ruling out any leads,” says the prosecutor

In a few minutes on September 23, 2023, Lina disappeared on a portion of the D 350, in the middle of the countryside in Bas-Rhin.

In her village of Plaine, the residents described to our journalist a young girl of her time, joyful and with her head on her shoulders.

From the first hours following the disappearance, searches, supervised by the gendarmes, were undertaken.

Residents of Plaine were interviewed by investigators and a new search was carried out in November, without success.

One man claimed to have passed her walking towards the station while another thought he saw her in the car a few minutes later, three kilometers away.
