Highlights: Johanne and her husband Julien were stuck in traffic in Quimper, Finistère. The 26-year-old gave birth in her car, just after the Kerustum roundabout. “I was a little scared because the umbilical cord was wrapped around Nolan's head and he didn't cry right away because he was having trouble breathing,” she told Ouest-France. The 4.065 kg baby and his mother were then welcomed without incident to the maternity ward.

Little Nolan was born in his parents' car, just after the Kerustum roundabout in Quimper.

Johanne and her husband Julien will remember the Kerustum roundabout in Quimper (Finistère) for a long time.

Driven by her husband to the maternity ward, this young woman gave birth in her car on Thursday, the couple having found themselves stuck in traffic jams caused by the mobilization of farmers.

The 26-year-old from Finistère told her story to our colleagues from Ouest-France.

After feeling contractions on Thursday morning, this Breton woman and her husband Julien left their home in Trégunc (Finistère) and took the road towards the Quimper maternity ward.

Except that angry farmers, mobilized since mid-January, are blocking certain roads in the department.

Stuck in traffic, Johanne then asks Julien to lower his seat and gets to work.

“We were each in our role: Julien was focused on driving, especially since there were traffic jams, and I was focused on my baby,” she told our colleagues.

“I was a little scared”

Little Nolan was therefore born shortly after 8 a.m., just after the Kerustum roundabout in Quimper.

“I was a little scared because the umbilical cord was wrapped around Nolan's head and he didn't cry right away because he was having trouble breathing.

I spread the cord a little to help her breathe,” confided the young mother.

The 4.065 kg baby and his mother were then welcomed without incident to the Quimper maternity ward.

“We will remember Nolan’s birth, it makes for great memories,” she concluded.
