A 29-year-old man was arrested this Saturday while threatening people with a knife in his hand in the city of Lyon (Rhône).
According to our information, the individual is listed as S.
The police intervened on Boulevard desUnis, south of the city, where the man was threatening people with a knife.
No one was injured and he was arrested without incident.
“Likely to be dangerous to himself”
Born in Bron, a town adjoining Lyon, the arrested person was placed on S file for reasons of “prevention of radicalization linked to Islam”, according to our information.
He is listed as someone “likely to be dangerous to himself”.
As a reminder, an S file concerns people whom France “suspects of terrorist aims or attacks on state security (or complicity), without them having committed any offense or crime.
» The arrested individual would be followed in a hospital specializing in psychiatry.
This Saturday, a knife attack hit the city of Paris, in the Gare de Lyon.
Three people were injured, one seriously, before the attacker was subdued and arrested.
“The personality elements of the accused, the circumstances and motivations of the act must still be confirmed,” declared the Paris prosecutor’s office.
