It was a cry of despair that was launched this Friday, February 2, by the magistrates of the seat and the public prosecutor's office of Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne), supported by the bar association, during the solemn hearing for the return of the court judicial.
In this department of 265,000 inhabitants, an unprecedented crisis has set in since the number of judges on the bench fell from 16 to ten between the end of December and the beginning of January.

While the jurisdiction should have 19 sitting magistrates, the court is on the verge of explosion and is only holding together thanks to the limitless commitment of its magistrates and clerks.
Faced with the prefect and elected officials, the magistrates, supported by the president of the bar association, denounced this untenable situation which inevitably extends the delays of justice.
