The man was placed in pre-trial detention.
A caregiver from the Pasteur hospital in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), aged 53, was indicted for rape and sexual assault on a vulnerable person on Wednesday January 31, according to the Nice prosecutor's office in Le Parisien, confirming a information from the local newspaper Nice-Matin.
According to the daily, the victim is a hospital patient who was unconscious at the time of the incident.
The report came from one of the nursing assistant's colleagues who overheard the attack in the intensive care unit on a sedated person.
He would have filmed the scene before denouncing the behavior of his colleague, about whom he already had doubts.
Still according to Nice-Matin, following his arrest, the fifty-year-old initially denied the accusations, before being confronted with the images.
The caregiver was placed in pre-trial detention “while investigations under the authority of an investigating judge continue”, specifies the prosecution.
This involves, among other things, investigating whether other people could have been victims of this man.
