He should have returned to the Rennes remand center (Ille-et-Vilaine) on December 21, where he was initially incarcerated until 2027, to serve a sentence linked to acts of theft, particularly with violence.

But it was ultimately after 43 days on the run and two escapes that he returned behind bars.

As reported by France Bleu, a 26-year-old man was sentenced on Saturday as part of an appearance on prior admission of guilt to 10 months in prison, by the Bourges court.

He was immediately imprisoned.

The day before, it was during a police check that the police came across this man and realized that he was wanted.

This is then the second time that the individual has been on the run and found himself facing police during a check.

In mid-December, he did not return to his cell in Rennes, following a leave of absence and was, a month later, on January 15, the subject of a road check in Vierzon, reports France Blue.

“Very well known to the courts”

The police realized that he was on the list of wanted persons and arrested him, as recounted by the Berry Républicain, but the individual, described by the daily newspaper as "very well known to the justice system", then made suffering from stomach pains and managed to get transferred to Vierzon hospital.

There, he managed to escape by managing to break two swinging doors.

This was without counting on a new control, once again carried out fortuitously, this time on Friday February 2, in Bourges.

The police arrested him once again, because of his second registration in the wanted persons file.

This time, no stomach aches, no transfer to the hospital.

The fugitive, already convicted in 2019 for... escape, was directly referred to the public prosecutor's office, before being judged, the next day, before the Bourges court.

He received six months in prison for his first escape, after his leave, to which were added four months for the escape from Vierzon hospital.

He must return quickly to Rennes to finish serving his sentence.
