The complaint was closed in spring 2023. The Strasbourg public prosecutor's office indicated this Monday that it had reopened the investigation into the rape complaint filed by Lina in May 2022, this teenager who had been missing since last September.
In June 2022, at the age of 13 and a half, Lina filed a complaint for gang rape, for acts committed the previous month.
The procedure was dismissed by the Saverne public prosecutor's office in the spring of 2023.
This judicial investigation was opened on the grounds of “rape committed against a minor aged 15” by an adult with an age difference of at least 5 years, indicates Strasbourg prosecutor Yolande Renzi in a press release.
This is detached and “unrelated” to the investigation opened for “kidnapping” and “criminal confinement”.
The mother became a civil party
During a press conference held this Friday by the young girl's mother and her lawyer Mr. Airoldi, the latter indicated "not understanding the way in which this case was handled" by the courts, the family not having been informed of the dismissal of the complaint.
“By not acting, they did not protect her, even though at 13 and a half years old she really needed the justice system to protect her,” said Lina’s mother Fanny Groll.
She then indicated that she was becoming a civil party in order to obtain referral to an investigating judge.

Lina, 15, disappeared on September 23, 2023 on a portion of the D 350, in the countryside in Bas-Rhin.
She was then on the way between her house located near the town of Plaine and the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche station.
The investigation into the disappearance was also initially carried out by the Saverne public prosecutor's office, which then transferred responsibility to the Strasbourg public prosecutor's office.
