Checks by police: Officers are not allowed to simply look into the trunk
In principle, the police can inspect cars and their drivers for road safety at any time.
The officers can also ask the driver to leave their vehicle in order to check ID cards, vehicle documents and the car itself (lights, tires, stickers).
