Since its foundation in 1948, Honda has always been guided by the desire to help people and society.

This commitment materializes today in the Global Vision 2030 strategy and in efforts to protect the environment, to improve safety and make a positive social contribution.

To achieve this goal, Honda has openly stated that it wants to lead the progress of mobility by developing initiatives that help achieve a CO2-free society. All driven by the commitment to provide consumers with quality products that meet the different individual needs and social expectations.

The Japanese group - which is involved, as is known, not only in the car sector, but also in the motorcycle, boating, aviation and generator sectors - aims to reduce the consumption of natural resources for all products by 2050 and business activities throughout the entire life cycle.

This by adopting specific initiatives in the three related areas of interest of the 'Towards Zero' strategy, i.e. carbon neutrality.

clean energy and the circular use of resources.

And it is significant that as part of this 'path' towards a society without CO2 emissions, Honda has already achieved the objective of electrifying its entire car range in Europe.

It has done so by improving hybrid propulsion systems with excellent results and recently also introducing hybrid technology that can be recharged via the network (plug-in) and 100% electric battery technology.

As highlighted in Honda's 12th annual European Environmental Report - which documents the measures adopted to achieve carbon neutrality - we read that the achievement of this objective began at the end of 2022 with the arrival of the 11th generation Civic e:HEV .

In 2023, the Tokyo-based company introduced three other electrified models in Europe: the new ZR-V full hybrid and the new CR-V full hybrid - the latter also available for the first time with plug-in hybrid technology - as well to the new e:Ny1 which is the brand's first fully electric SUV.

"Europe is important for our company - recently declared Katsuhisa Okuda, president and director of Honda Motor Europe - and in this region we have many loyal customers who drive our cars and motorcycles, and use our power products" .

"Today we are expanding our range of automotive products and technologies, the widest for many years.

Furthermore, by evolving our offer to include energy services, we are laying the foundations for future electrification and at the same time moving closer to our global sustainability objectives". An 'eco' roadmap that focuses on Honda's new full hybrid models, the new mid-size sports SUV ZR-V and the new CR-V which is Honda's global SUV now in its sixth generation and now also available in the plug-in hybrid version.

"When we launched the new Civic in 2022 - commented Tom Gardner, senior vice president Honda Motor Europe - we have completed the electrification of our car range in Europe, which has thus become the first Honda region to reach this milestone". And now the presence on EU markets, including Italy, of these two new hybrid SUVs it allows Honda - said Gardner - "to be aligned with our commitments towards sustainability and the global transition, which Europe will help us achieve".
