Following the successful launch of the Galaxy S24 in Israel, Apple announced that it is reducing the prices of all devices from its iPhone series by NIS 200 - after taking exactly the same step last week.
The Mahsani Elektram chain, Samsung's official marketer in Israel, reported today (Monday) that the Galaxy S24 series is the most successful of the mobile brand in the last seven years, with a 53% jump in sales compared to the launch of the S23, which was considered the most successful to date. So about 2,000 devices were sold within 34 days of launch, while a similar amount of the S24 was sold within just 14 days of launch, so the cell phone's sales rate is about 200 devices at the most.
The launch of the Galaxy S24 also affected the competitor Apple, which in an unusual move last week lowered the prices of all devices in its iPhone series by 50 dollars (about NIS 200), as mentioned in recent days it issued another update according to which it intends to carry out a second round of price reductions at the beginning of next week at a similar rate.

The networks point out that this is an unprecedented move on Apple's part, since not only is this an aggressive price reduction by the giant company's standards, but it is carried out in the first quarter after the launch of the new iPhone, which has always been the strongest month in sales for the brand in Israel.
Thus, for example, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro 128GB is currently sold in electrical stores for NIS 4,945 compared to the price of the device before the launch of the Galaxy S24, which was then NIS 5,149.
Apple iPhone 15 PLUS 128GB is currently sold in electrical stores for NIS 4,449, this compares to the price of the device before the launch of the Galaxy S24, which was then NIS 4,699.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB is currently sold in electrical stores for NIS 6,040 compared to the device before the launch of the Galaxy S24, which was then at NIS 6,240.

The obvious hit
About 45% of the sales of the Galaxy S24 online were of the Ultra series, whose price currently stands at 5,049.
35% of the sales were of the S24 Plus models, whose price is NIS 3,929 - while 20% of the sales were of the regular S24 models, whose price starts at NIS 3,199.
According to "Electrical Stores", if about 8% of the buyers of the previous model made the purchase through a trade-up deal, this year the figure rose to 20% of the customers who purchased the device.
The most frequently recalled model was the Samsung Galaxy S22, followed by the iPhone 12.
And in which city were the most Galaxy S24s sold?
According to "Elektram Stores", Eilat concentrated about 30% of the volume of sales of the series, followed by Rishon Lezion, Tel Aviv, Petah Tikva and Jerusalem.
According to Liron Katz, VP of Business Development and Director of Digital Operations at "Electric Warehouses", the scale of the sales in the southern city was truly an unprecedented phenomenon in its scope. "About 500 customers came to the city specifically to pick up the device after the pre-order," he said.
